Program
Day 1: Depart from Valence TGV & Ville / Crest / Pierrelatte.
The group will be received in Valence at 1:15 p.m. Take a coach to Crest for a guided tour of the Tower of Crest, one of the tallest medieval towers in France. Then, continue to Pierrelatte for a guided tour of the Fragonard perfume factory, where you will learn about perfume-making techniques. Check in at the hotel and enjoy some free time.
Dinner and an overnight stay in Pierrelatte.
Day 2: Saint-Jean-du-Gard / Mialet
After breakfast, depart for the Cévennes to visit the Maison Rouge - Musée des Vallées Cévenoles in Saint-Jean-du-Gard, a fascinating museum about the Cévennes valleys. Enjoy a convivial lunch at a local restaurant, then head to Mialet to explore the mysterious Trabuc Cave and its thousand stone soldiers. Have dinner and spend the night in Mialet.
Day 3: Mialet / Anduze
We will stay in the region to visit the Musée du Désert, an iconic site that commemorates Protestant history in the Cévennes. After lunch, we will head to Anduze for a guided tour of the famous Bambouseraie, a surprising exotic garden. Return to Mialet for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Aigues-Mortes / Béziers
After breakfast, we head to Aigues-Mortes. We will discover the Salins du Midi salt marshes by mini train and enjoy the exceptional views! Have lunch inside the ramparts, then enjoy some free time to stroll around the medieval city. We will end the day with a guided tour of the Tour de Constance, a powerful symbol of Protestant history. Dinner and an overnight stay will be in Béziers.
Day 5: Rouairoux / Mazamet / Castres
Head to the Tarn region to visit the textile museum in Labastide-Rouairoux, which has a rich industrial history. Follow in the footsteps of renowned fashion designers such as Chanel, Courrèges, and Dior. Have lunch in Mazamet before climbing to the medieval village of Hautpoul via the spectacular Himalayan footbridge. End the day with a visit to Mazamet's historic center. Dinner and an overnight stay will be in Castres.
Day 6: Fontrieu / Roquefort-sur-Soulzon / Millau.
After breakfast, depart for Fontrieu to visit the Museum of Protestantism, which covers the period from the Reformation to secularism. Then, we will head to Roquefort for a local lunch, followed by a visit to the famous Société cheese factory. In the afternoon, take a cruise on the Tarn and pass under the majestic Millau Viaduct. Then, discover the charming village of Peyre, named one of the most beautiful villages in France. Dinner and an overnight stay in Millau.
Day 7: Nîmes
Head to Nîmes, a city of heritage and art de vivre. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant with a breathtaking view of the arena, followed by a guided tour of the Musée de la Romanité focusing on Christian beliefs in the Middle Ages. Enjoy free time to stroll and have dinner in the city, then spend the night in Nîmes.
Day 8: Montélimar / Valence
After breakfast, make a final stop in Montélimar for a gourmet tour of a nougat factory. Then, return to the Valence train station with your heart filled with memories and discoveries.
