Excursion to Crest & Dieulefit

Stage 1: 7:00 am departure from Lyon for Crest by Grand Tourisme bus.

Stage 2: Guided tour of the Tour de Crest

Overlooking the Drôme valley, the Tour de Crest, Europe's highest keep and a listed historic monument, watches over the town and marks the entrance to the Alps, south of the Vercors massif. It bears witness to a rich historical past. From its summit, the panoramic view extends over the valley, the Vercors hills and as far as the Ardèche mountains on the other side of the Rhône.

A stroll through old Dieulefit, listed as one of France's “Villes et Villages des Justes”, reveals a village full of charm, with its cobbled streets and ancient houses. You'll pass under small porches, come across fountains and discover craftsmen's workshops. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming. It's a leisurely stroll, ideal for taking time out and enjoying yourself.

Stage 5: Musée du Protestantisme Dauphinois in Le Poët-Laval

This visit provides a better understanding of the history of Protestantism in the region. It is housed in one of the very few temples not destroyed during the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes. It recounts the major stages in their history, between faith, persecution and resistance. You'll discover objects, documents and moving testimonies. It's a visit that helps you learn more about the region's past.
